Native support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) on Windows
MCP on Windows offers a standardized framework for AI agents to connect with native Windows apps, enabling them to easily participate in agentic interactions on Windows. Windows apps can expose specific functionality to augment the skills and capabilities of agents installed locally on a Windows PC. This infrastructure will be available in a private developer preview with select partners in the coming months to begin garnering feedback.
App Actions on Windows
A new capability for app developers to increase discoverability for their apps features, unlocking new entry points for developers to reach new users. App Actions will be available as built-in MCP servers enabling apps to provide their functionality to agents. Developers can build and test actions using App Actions APIs and App Actions Testing Playground.
